Windows are intricate pieces of work. They have evolved significantly over time. Movable frames, complex joinery, and the physics of letting in light while keeping out the cold and bugs make them complicated units that present challenges when it comes to installation, maintenance, and repair.

Windows take a beating from UV rays, temperature changes, moisture, and other natural causes. Regular window maintenance pays off in the long run and saves energy. During the winter water builds up on the inside of the window when moist air hits cold glass. Installing storm windows, which have small drainage holes at the bottom, prevents this buildup. Clean the windows frequently to prevent debris from building up on the surfaces or the glass. Replace broken glass immediately. Always remember to weatherproof your windows also.
