Wallpaper & Wallcoverings
Wallpaper is one method of interior decorating used to improve the aesthetics of homes and offices. Wallpaper can be plain or printed with graphics. Plain wallpaper is typically used if one wants to pain on top of it, but not ruin the original wall behind the paper. There are many different types of colors and patterns used to print wallpaper. It is up to the homeowner which pattern and/or style, and color to use.Wallpaper is typically hung by submerging the paper in water. There is an adhesive agent of the back of the paper that becomes sticky when wet. The wallpaper is usually hung in large sheets vertically. There are different methods used to remove wallpaper. Perforating the wallpaper sheets is one way to aid in the removal of the sheets. This perforation should be used with some sort of chemical wallpaper stripper. The chemical stripper is usually a mixture of warm water and vinegar, and may have to be applied several times. Steam can also be used to dissolve the wallpaper paste. One must be careful to not damage the underlying drywall when peeling off the existing wallpaper.
