Solar Energy
Solar energy uses technology to obtain energy from the light of the sun. Solar energy has been used in many technologies for hundreds of years. This type of energy has seen more prevalent use in remote locations where sun in not available like space. Solar energy is used in applications like cooking, heat engines, and the desalination of seawater.Solar designs are used in architectural ways today. These solar designs are used to maintain a building’s environment at a comfortable temperature through the sun's daily and annual cycles. Sometimes solar energy is stored as heat in the walls of a building, which in turn keep the building heated at night.
Solar hot water systems use sunlight to heat water. They may be used to heat domestic hot water, for space heating or to heat swimming pools. The three basic classifications of solar water heaters are batch, active, and passive systems. Batch systems uses tanks directly heat by sunlight. Active systems use pumps to circulate the fluid. Passive systems circulate fluids by a natural circulation.
