Powerwashing & Sandblasting
Pressure treated woods are not exempt from having to be treated. Some woods repel insects, but they are still affected by harmful weather – sun, rain, sleet, hail, etc. Sun and rain are the two harshest elements wood can be subjected to. A grayed surface can be a sign of sun or UV damage. Loose nails are caused by the swelling and shrinking of the wood over time. Cracking and warping are usually due to water damage. Regular cleaning and sealing extends the life of a deck or fence many times over. It saves trees, and saves you money over the long run.Power washing can restore dull looking decks, patios, walks and fences to an almost new look. High-pressure water will cure most sun and rain affected areas. A flat tipped nozzle works best for wooden surfaces, while a swirl tip cleans brick surfaces best. When cleaning wood, especially with power washers over 2,000 psi, be careful not to scar the wood or make it frayed, which can be done at too close of a range with the high pressure. Make sure to clean the entire board to bring all wood to the same color.
